Day 1 of my £10 a week diet journal
So, I´ve finally started to lose some real weight. That´s the good news. The less good news was that it was due to a shortage of money to buy food. I´m starting to get back on track financially, but I´ve decided to keep going in the same manner. Journals and stats are good, right? I´ll be recording everything I buy and eat here. Don´t expect lovely recipes and pictures as the food will be basic, and frankly repetitive. I go for what I like and don´t mind eating a few times a week.

Went to see a friend with whom I share a birthday. That couple sure do drink a lot for 89 year olds!
I got home to check how many calories are in a bottle of white wine... give or take! (And two Baby bel cheeses!)
2 x Baby bel =90 kcal
1 x Bottle of white wine =600 kcal
1 x fried egg =100 kcal
4 x richmond sausages 440 kcal
1 x steak slice (it´s a Scottish thing!) 120 kcal
1/2 x baked beans =150 kcal
1 x banana 100 kcal
Total kcal: 1650
Total spend:
£9 bottle of wine (I never take cheap stuff on a visit!)
£1.03 on food. (The sausages were on expiry date offer, and I couldn´t refuse.)
I´d like to have done better, but that can happen when I´m alone. Friends, laughter and sharing a drink is far better than thin feels!
As for the picture... forget the BMI ´science´, the best and simplest guide is that our waist (trouser size?) should be half our height. I´ll talk more about mine in another post.
