New biros have a protective wax tip that usually breaks off with a firm stroke.
Do you have any tea candles? Just hold the pen´s nib over the flame for a minute. Usually works.
Take the ink inner out and roll in the palm of your hands to warm it up. Don´t put them over the tea candle as they can easily melt.
